Clark Construction, in partnership with JBG Smith and the Arlington County Department of Parks and Recreation, hosted civic association and community leaders for a construction update presentation on January 13, 2020, at JBG Smith’s sales office in Crystal City, VA.
During the meeting, the team shared information about preconstruction activities to prepare the Metropolitan Park site for construction in Spring 2020. The discussion included details on the construction schedule, hauling routes for construction vehicles, the location of construction parking and vehicle and pedestrian circulation, and construction hours.
During the meeting, JBG Smith and Arlington County representatives also discussed the Park Master Plan (PMP) process for Metropolitan Park. A series of engagement opportunities, both in person and online, will provide the necessary guidance and information for completing the Park Master Plan, which will include design guidelines and a refined concept plan for Metropolitan Park. James Corner Field Operations (JCFO) landscape architecture firm was in attendance to provide an introduction to the project and will collaborate with the Department of Parks and Recreation on the PMP efforts.
